Thinking of buying a 55 Bel Air

    Hello,
In my 77+ years I have been a lucky person to have owned some really enjoyable vehicles. I have had 4 Vettes and now I am thinking of buying a 55 Bel Air I have seen. It's located at Gateway Classic Cars in Ruskin Fl. I have to admit I am somewhat lacking in knowledge in what to 'lookout' for when investigating these types of vehicles.
    1. Any advice will be appreciated
    2. Has anyone dealt with Gateway Classics? Your impressions of them?

NG, I'd be VERY careful with them. A relative bought a car from their Atlanta Gateway Classics location recently. He should have known better, but "the pictures were good" This car will take us a long time to straighten out. When he contacted them, after delivery, they just said "we had the car on consignment" (they all are), and , no, there's no warranty. Basically, he's on his own, they got paid, they're done with him.
My best advice, if you are not knowledgeable about tri-fives, have a friend who is look the car over for you, or with you. They seem to get BIG money for less than average cars.
I'd further suggest you look at some other tri-fives, there's plenty available, and should be some nice ones in your area. Eliminate the middle man if you can.
