    Our '56 Belair sport hardtop

    Greetings all
I have an elderly family friend who's husband passed about 2 years ago. She's has asked me to help her get his car up and running as it's been sitting for 3 years inside their garage under a car cover. It's an absolutely beautiful all original '56 Belair with 17K documented miles. She showed me all the documents they've kept over the years, truly unbelievable. It has a 2 speed power glide with a V8 283 and power steering. After I cleaned the carb, drained the tank, added some non ethanol 91 octane fuel and a new battery, she started right up to a lovely purr. I'm in love with this car. I drove it around and everytime i came to a stop, everyone rolled their windows down to say hello. I must say, the steering wheel is huge20250308_134818.jpg

There it is! Very nice! The startup after hibernation sounds ideal!

      Just curious.........if it's an all original 17,000 mile car, that would be a 265, wouldn't it? I thought 283's didn't come out until 57
