For Best results use correct Knurled bolts for your starter. Dorman sell them in aftermarket.

My 56 has a 3x2 intake with 2Jet carbs and 55 has a Tunnel ran with two Holley 600s. Both have modified stock linkage, I use a lot of 1/4 20 Heims...
