My Vin Number is VC 57J283790. All documents I have looked at show that in 1957 they only made 254Kish Sedans. Is that correct? Can my vin be 283790?? It came from Jamisson, Wisconsin factory, anyone know the start and end numbers for that factory??

take a look in library area on homepage. lots of good info there. :)
The VIN reflects all models for the year, not just your body style.
VINs start with 100001 at each assembly plant.
The body number on the cowl tag goes by body style for that body plant.
So I don't think you have a discrepancy.
I thought they started at 10001 not 100001? But I'm pretty sure it is original Thanks
