^^^ This.
We have a 57 sedan in the shop. It has a ladder bar rear under it.. A total mess with the exhaust. They ran it under the x member that the bars are attached to.
About what we expected, once we saw how the rest of the car is such a disaster.

This chassis is going under a 55 2 dr. Wagon. Disc brakes all around with a 9" ford rear end, Williams shock bar, spring pocket kit and traction bars. Front end has Heidts upper and lower control arms, Unisteer Rack and Pinion Steering. Sway bar, and disc brakes. This is the second chassis that I have done this way and they handle just fine.

Ridetech makes a decent 4-link.
However, w/a wagon, you'll need to remove the rear spare tire well and get a diff (traditional) gas tank.

A good leaf spring setup can be made to work great with the least effort. Any other suspension, is going to take much more time and money to get it right. I'm trying to make the C4 rear suspension work, but if that doesn't work out, I will wish I had gone with a composite leaf rear suspension.

Here is my steering shaft with plenty of clearance with almost a straight shot at the C4 front mounted steering rack. I will find out how well it works. Although it wasn't cheap, neither were any of the other options. No matter which path you choose there will be plenty of compromises I'm finding out the hard way.Attachment 11765

On the front sway bars. Does Helwig make a bar that will span the width for using CPP tubular A arms? I notice it is a wider stance than the stock control arms. As far as the rear has anyone used the composite rear leaf cut into the frame and air/ adjustable coil over set up I’ve seen out there?
