OK, here's what I have on my 56...........when I bought it, it had Heidt's spindles on it. The kit allowed for using G body rotors and calipers. That's what was on it when I bought it. I had to contact Heidt's to get the right hoses, but that was no issue. It also came with a small (7 inch?)aftermarket vacuum booster, and a disc drum master cylinder.
This is not the only way, but it's worked for me for over 30,000 miles.
Thank-you for the info
I will recommend I higher end kit such as Baer or Wilwood with D52 caliper's if it's within your budget.
Try to find a "zero offset" kit so your wheels aren't moved outboard. The old-style 68-70 Chevelle based kits move the wheel mounting surfaces out 7/8" per side. The problem isn't the calipers, it's the rotors. There are some that claim "zero offset" but they're not.
