Many, many kits out there. The basic disc brake upgrade would be caliper brackets, rotors, and calipers. The rotors and calipers should be the replacement parts for a 69-72 Chevelle. Those are the...
A 30-30 Duntov cam is noisy, I thought many liked that. Just like they like the random misses at idle. And I agree with markm, you don't have to adjust the valves often. It's just not necessary.
I don't think you'll find any cold lash specs. What you do is set the initial lash with an educated guess and then when warmed up, check and set again. There is a difference but it's not spec'd and...
BamaNomad, lash specs on solid lifter cams are for a fully warmed up engine. So it's not about expansion, it's about matching the lash to the camshaft design.
It's up to you to figure out how...
Depends on the gasket. If it's a common composite replacement gasket, it's dry. If it's a metal gasket, then you need a sealer like K&W Copper Spray or Permatex Hi Tack. Others, see the...
Permatex #2 works well too, but the aviation sealer might be a little less messy.
Loctite/Permatex has a sealer product that should work well too.
Just looked on O'Reillys. Most Dexron 6 synthetic is around $8 a quart. Most Dexron 3 is around $6.50 a quart. No Dexron 4 or 5, or anythng below 3. I did find some ACDelco Dexron 6 at $6.50. I...
Factory angle is 4° down. Stick with it, as that is what determines the clearance and fit of the transmission to the floor pan and transmission tunnel.
This has nothing to do with the oil pan...
I don't know how you do much with a bench grinder and a file. A cutoff wheel makes more sense to me except for the last little bit removing the inside radius. I'd want my raw stock to be thicker...
All the GM pans either don't fit, or the sump hangs low.
The Jamtac style conductors are not known for reliable use, and at best the pieces in the door and the A pillar must line up with accuracy which is difficult.
The pan will fit and not interfere with the crossmember if your engine mounts are fitted correctly. It will be closest at the front pan bolts.
Actually there's a Harold Louisiana book for a 55 restoration too. "How to Restore Your Golden 55 Chevy". What I don't know is if you can still buy it or where.
After scrutinizing a lot, I'm still confused.
barnwagon, did it occur to you that the scrutiny was because these guys are trying to help you?
Timo, what you want on the mount for the upper bar is for the bar to be parallel to the lower bar when viewing from the side. It's difficult to tell from your video whether you have that or not.

^What Rustaddict said.
Not only do they sell poorly manufactured and sometimes dangerous parts, their customer service really sucks. The only major part they've put on the market that's been accepted and successful is...
A note for future use - don't ever think anything from CPP is a name brand. I don't care what kind of part it is.
Use a similar spacing as what the factory used on their spot welds. 2-1/2" to 3" is a good start. Make the through holes big enough but not too big. Around 3/8" is a good start. You want to be...
Thanks for finding and posting that document, Sid. It pretty much says it all.
Yes you can.
The 56-57 z-bars are wider not narrower and the engine side pivot is moved toward the engine not the other way.
If you have z-bar to filter interference something is not stock and doing whatever...
Are the quarter panels original to the car? The doors?
I'm wondering if those are original 57 quarter panels and 56 doors.
The bolts are only sold to fit starters - in the specific length needed for starters.
