    The 56's Maiden Voyage

Well I'm happy to say that after almost two years to the day the 56 is back on the road. Working strictly on Saturdays and once in a while on a Sunday the 56 underwent a complete makeover. She ran great right out of the driveway! Although I did have a bit of a scare when the #6 plug wire came loose after a few miles..I actually thought I started to wipe a lobe ...I promise I wasn't getting on it..much. It's a long story but we found the problem, pluged the wire back in and she ran like a beast. All work was done by myself and a close friend...oh and the wifey...

Here are just a few of the modifications and upgrades:

    Vent windows deleted
    Smoothed bumpers
    Smoothed firewall
Built 355, Edelbrock heads & manifold, Holley, Comp Cams, Petronix, ect.
    B&M 350 trans
    Tubular control arms
    QA1 Coilovers
4" drop up front, 2" drop in the rear
    Rack and Pinion (manual)
    Frame pulled and epoxy painted
Chevy 8.5 10 inch rearend with 3.73 gears
    Ididit Steering column
    Dakota Digital Dash
    Ciadella Interior
    Rain Gear
Lots of Danchuk and Gene Smith parts
    Wilwood maunal disk brakes
Custom PRC Radiator with dual electric fans
    American Auto Wire custom electric
    Dynamat

Now i'm on the hunt for the next project!

Thanks to everyone on the site who helped support this build with advise, technical knowledge, or just the kind words of support that kept me going. You guys are awesome!!

Frogman, I love your car. I like the way it is two-toned. I think 210s look best painted that way.

Tell us about your front seat. It looks like a stock '56 seat, but it is different.

Thanks to everyone for the kind words. As for the front seat Tabasco, it's actually a 54 Chevy seat, and fits in just fine with no mods. The car came with it and I had no idea it was a 54 until I ordered my interior and attempted to put my 56 covers on the seat and they would not fit right. Ciadella's was a big help in figuring out what seat it was by looking at photo's of the seat frames that I sent them. Then they graciously took my 56 covers and made them into the 54 covers on there now.

    Good eye Tabasco!
