$100 off 20 ton HF shop press

Hi guys, I wanted to post this earlier this month but forgot. I got a coupon in e-mail for $100 of a $249 20-ton HF shop press in early March. I went and bought one, and it's pretty darn nice. I've never had a shop press, and this will really be handy.

I still have the coupon, which is good until 3/31 (a couple more days) if anyone wants a copy. Please e-mail me at Lnobi53@yahoo.com if you want it.

I also found a guy here in CO who makes a press-brake attachment that he says will bend 1/4" steel for only $150.

If you like yours you would love my Remade in USA model. I made a heavier base which makes it 6 inches taller and drilled a hoe in between each of the factory ones for twice the adjustment. Not a problem drilling with my three phase Bufflaloo #22 drill press. Watch out for the HF press plates I had one exloplode and shoot across the shop.

Thanks for the warning Mark. I could have paid hundreds more for a US-made one (if there is such a thing anymore), but this press is really pretty darn good for $149. My brother bought one too.

That was my thoughts I dont use a press very often but dont know what I would do without one. When I took plate back to store they said I overloaded it and it broke from abuse. I asked why they sold a press with plates that were rated less than the press. I have some 1 inch good steel ones now.

I would like to see the press break attachment. Length? Ton requirement for 1/4"? Most of what I have bent is 3/16" but to be able to bend 1/4" would be a nice add. Let me know. Shoot me an email with the press discount I might see if it's better than what I have.

Sorry, he says it can bend 3/8"....but the question is how wide.

I typically don't need to bend metal more than 3/16" thick, and no more than 4" or so wide. Seems like that would be a nice attachment. I'm going to see if he can put a round rod on one so I can make radiused bends.

I have a 12 ton HF press and it's been a valuable tool in the shop.

I've also heard of some bad experiences with the cast press plates they supply with their presses. I've used them with success on the 12 ton, but having a pair cut by a steel shop from real wrought metal would be a good thing, same shape would work for most stuff.
