    Thanks Woody,

I have not touched the truck in quite a while but hopefully I can get back on it soon and start posting again.

Man I would be done with this thing if I could stop making changes but I could not help myself.lol I always wanted the progressive automotive x member/transmission mount but put it off because I simply did not want to spend more money. But it keep calling me so I broke down and bought it. Well anyway here it is.

    As shipped

Welded together and cut down for installation

Installed. Removing the factory crossmembers were a lot of work but I like this better.

The Transmission mount is just sitting there in this pic, it will not be welded in until engine and trans mockup.

I also decided to fab up a tubular cross member to replace the factory one.

Nice work Bam. I installed one of those crossmembers in a 57 frame several years ago. The only downside I saw is that it limits exhaust diameter, but if you're going with 2-2.5" you're probably ok. I don't think 3" will fit.

I know what you mean about changing stuff. I'm in the process of re-doing my rear shock mounts right now to decrease the shock angle. There's some other changes I've considered, but I'm not going there.

Chevynut I can't run exhaust through the x member unless I move my brake assembly to the firewall. I don't think I'm willing to do that I like a clean firewall and wanted my frame mount brake for the truck. The exhaust will most likely be under the x member, but who knows I've been know to change things.lol. By the way I will be running 2.5 exhaust.

Can you run it inside the crossmember, next to your tranny? Seems like maybe there's more room there.

Once I get everything back together I could try to see if there is room. We all know we can figure things out once mock up is done. So I will only give up on the idea once I convince myself it can't be done.lol I'm only preparing myself for the worst case scenario.

The set back of installing the x member means I can no longer use the factory brake assembly. So here is my brake bracket I fabricated. As you can see I also had to notch the frame to have clearance for the Hydroboost unit.

I already modified the panel assembly, all that is required is a push rod extension but I think I better wait until the cab is back on to mock it up so that I know the brake is in the right spot.
