I'll bet any one of those cars could be bought for the right price. The problem is, when guys approach the owners they try to lowball them and then walk away disgusted. We've had this discussion several times in the past. Sure, there's probably some guys who just want to hang on to say they have them, but that's not the majority. I know of a large stash of 55-57's that I'm sure I could buy if I offered enough. But we all want a screaming deal.

Why not get a screaming deal? Buy low sell high is always a good plan for me.

There are few "screaming deals" right now. People remember the prices cars were going for 5 years ago, and they were sky-high. You couldn't touch a Nomad in any condition for under $15-20K. Basket cases were selling for $7-10K easily. Those same cars are going for half that now. So the owners refuse to come down in price because they believe the "good times" will return and they can sell high again.
