    Snagged a tube bender

A friend of mine had a JD2 tube bender with 11 sets of dies that I picked up for $1500. I've been wanting to get a bender to make some frame parts and this was too good of a deal to pass up. You don't find them used very often, and I don't have to pay shipping either. Some of the dies are 30-50 pounds. It has 1/2, 1", and 1 1/2" square dies, and eight 1/2 - 2" round tube dies. I plan to put a hydraulic setup on it so I don't have to bolt it to the floor. I've seen a setup with an air-over-hydraulic ram from HF that seems to work well and it's inexpensive.

He also has 8 or so gas bottles, so I picked up another one for my TIG welder since it seems like we're always running out of argon on weekends.

He has a bunch of other equipment that I plan to look at too....slip roll, tube notcher, etc. He used to build dragster frames and stuff like that.
