    What are these holes for?

There is a 1.5" diameter hole at the base of each of my b-pillars that I'm considering welding up. Anyone know what these holes are for? I can't seem to find any reason they are there, but maybe I'm missing something.

There is a similar hole in virtually the same location on a 2 door sedan. Not real sure what for.

Well they're gone now. Hope they weren't for something important, but I can't imagine what that is. The holes were interfering with the slot I want to make for my seatbelt.

Running wires at the factory, perhaps the dome light?
