Of course it will if you use the right parts. What engines are in them?

My 1987 GMC 4x4s bith gave earky 70s shortblocks due ti the orginaks being cracked late nodek thin wall crap. I have the 87-95 TBI heads and byntakes on them, You need to use early flexplate due to one piece rear main.Originally Posted by 55chevylover

I am sure it can be done but dont think its a good plan, Inline 6 never offered in 88-98 1/2 ton etc. Your 89 has a V8 or V6 plus injection.
