    Wow I'm digging this

I'd seen a white version of this but not in black. I really like this keeps an original feel with modern functions.

It looks okay, but they don't say what technology is used for the gauges. I'm betting it's not steppers, like Dakota Digital uses. Where's the tach needle? I really like the DD gauges because they include functions nobody else has and they have an "info center"for all kinds of things. You can hook up warning lights to it like a hood latch open, park brake, or fluid level sensors. The steppers need to be controlled by a computer, which DD provides...and at a lower cost. DD now sells their gauges with white lighting and red needles, so they look more OEM. I taked to them at SEMA a couple years ago about it, and told them I didn't like the blue or red offerings but loved the layout and technology....others must have given them input too. Also the DD unit is BACKLIT, instead of being lit from the front like others. I don't think the NVU gauges look very good with the lights on compared to the DD gauges.

As with many others, the tach leaves much to be desired on this one. No matter what it uses for a pointer/indicator.

The DD is superior for this reason IMO.

But, more choices is always good - someone will like it better than the others.

C'nut I totally agree. I did have the one you posted on the lower right black face as my first choice. I really like it too. The one I posted is just more original looking but I am undecided because I do agree the DD looks better. Only advantage is the NTV allows for use of an original column auto shifter and indicator. The tach arm comes up from behind the auto indicator you can see it on there website. I am going with a FR or IDIDIT tilt column but I'm keeping the column shifter. Also I'm installing an ls2 and 6 speed auto. I called DD and they said they don't support the 6 speed. Meaning I will have to use a mechanical gear indicator. Which could be on the tilt column if I use the DD. The NTV gives me the option to keep the factory shift indicator. The 6 speed only mechanically shifts into R and OD. all the lower gears are electronically shifted. And only speartech is offering gauges that read the data for the 6 speeds but their gauges do not fit in a trifive looks wise. I'm working on paddle shifter that looks like it came in 1955 to be able to shift into lower gears manually via an electronic switch which speartech provides with there ls2 harness. I guess one could use the DD linear potentiometer and get the reading that way to display the PR & OD mechanically and display it on their gauge also.

I kike it better than most I have seen. However I am still not ready to ditch my 10 grand Moroso/Jones mechanical tach mounted on dash.

The thing that really sells me on the DD gauges is the backlighting. I think it's the best lighting in the industry, and it looks OEM. I saw them in person at SEMA and at a couple shows.

If you're talking about the original automatic shift indicator on the bezel, I thought you could use that with the DD unit. The one shown is just a bezel for a manual shift car. It looks like there should be room for the stock indicator:

What I'd like to see is some more indicators behind a lens in that opening....warning indicator lights. I may add that to mine if possible.

How does the other one display the gears? Is it electronic? Does it support different types?

The DD gauges also have a nice matching clock.

I've been holding off buying mine in case there's something new out before I need it. I almost went for one of the VHX series with the blue display and silver face, and if I had I'd be kicking myself now that the white lighting is available. They don't make the white lighting with the carbon fiber face, only with the silver and black. I don't understand why not.

I don't believe the one I posted will display gears it has to be done mechanically.

These guys offer an option for the gear indicator original or electronic.

Rocky, I guess my point is you could get a bezel with the auto shift hole showing and use the DD gauges. Then you should be able to hook up the stock shift indicator. Am I missing something???? Seems like it should work, but maybe it doesn't.

Your probably correct. I need to call them and verify that is the case.
