Chevrolet says Corvette ZR1 not under consideration
"Introducing a ZR1 halo car above the upcoming Z06, which is due at the end of the year, would require significant investment in design, testing and certification – for negligible performance gains. It appears that Chevy is choosing to focus on the Z06 for now, and wait for the next great technological leap before investing in another ZR1."

Wonder how these manufactures get away with these cars going so fast without roll bars ect?

In order to put money in their pockets and their sponsers cars must have new seat belts every two years, must run SFI scattershields flywheels flexplates dampners ect and they must be recertified by Mfg or replaced every five. With new cars dipping into these rule zones, example rollbar, they lowered std. Basically they help fund the pro series races on the backs of the sportsman racers. Ask anyone who has races a 10 second or faster car in recent years.

Am I missing something, the Dodge has 10% more power
This is what Chrysler says the Challenger does, and the Corvette does the 1/4 in 10.95 with no mention about the tires.
"2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat: The Fastest Muscle Car Ever With A 1/4-Mile Elapsed Time of 11.2 Seconds (10.8 Seconds with Drag Radials)"
http://media.chrysler.com/newsreleas...id=15790&mid=1
Challenger does 0-60 in 2.9 sec, and the Corvette does 0-60 in 2.95
I wouldn't say that the Challenger blows it away, especially when you consider the power difference, but I guess we will have to wait for a head to head. I think I would be more interested in how it performs against the other sports cars on a road course.
would luv them both, but will never have that kind of money.
ARMY NAM VET, very proud!
