    The past couple of days I found time to work on my Nomad, so I made a bracket for my e-brake warning switch and finished wiring it yesterday. I tested it today and it works great. I also found out that I had a little binding in the hood release solenoid for some reason so I resolved that today. I'm starting to wire up my coolant level sensor "signal flip" relay and the power antenna which I'll test when done. I installed the LED dome lights and they sure don't dim as smoothly as the incandescent ones do. Not sure what I'm going to do there for sure.

    Next I'm going to make sure I have power to the A/C, Stereo, mirror, and amp. Then I'll do a little more electrical testing. Larry said he has my headliner sewn up so I need to make sure I have everything up there ready to install it.

    Nice. That little switch mounting bracket looks sanitary! Where'd you get it? Did you make it? Nice and tucked in there...

    I have the same eBrake pedal setup in mine. How did you finish/orient the ebrake release handle?

    And a rogue question: when you wire up that power antenna and mirror, do you set each up with their own dedicated fuse on the fuseblock(s)? Or do you combine them with other fused electrical items?

    I made the bracket out of 16 gauge steel. I don't need to use the rear two holes and the support that goes there because my e-brake is solidly mounted to the firewall plate that holds the pedals. So I just bolted it on there. I haven't built the release lever yet because I'm not sure where I'm going to put it, but probably at the bottom of my valence or through it. I don't think it's going to be a big deal. By the way the switch is an SLS-66 I got on eBay and I already had the 2-position blade connector for it.

    The antenna can have it's own power source or you can fuse it with something else. The fuse has to be able to pass the current of all loads combined, and the wires all have to be big enough to handle the current of the fuse if it shorts. You probably want to think about what you want fused together because you wouldn't want an antenna to take out your ECM if something happened to it.

    I have several modules that take 2 power sources, "ign" and "constant". I typically fused two modules together on each power source. My antenna power is fused with the glovebox light and mirror constant power. I probably should have fused it with the stereo itself. If I fused everything totally separately I'd have 100 fuses. I currently have 36 fuse slots with 7 open for spares spread over 4 power sources (ign, acc, RAP, constant), so 29 are used.

    that is the answer i was hoping for (a explanation of why you would or wouldn't fuse more than 1 item together)
    I have a shit ton of fuses too. trying to minimize adding any more. I think I'll fuse the antenna and stereo together.

    Where is your eBrake warning light? Is that part of the digital gauge cluster?

    Yes, I'm using the "BRAKE" input on my VHX instrument controller. I'm using it for both the e-brake warning and the brake fluid level sensor.

    Got my relays installed yesterday for the coolant sensor and power antenna. I verified that everything works so the antenna is ready to install after I install the fender. I also verified that the Dakota Digital fan controller works and set the low and high setpoints. They have a cool diagnostic feature that allows you to adjust a "fake" temperature so you can check fan operation. The little box has some pretty nice features. I plugged in my auto-dimming mirror and everything works. The compass needs calibration but the temperature sensor works. It has map lights that work too, but I need to verify that they come on with the dome light when I add the wire for that function. I'll do that today.

    I still need to check out the A/C and heater, the alarm system, cruise control, and a few other small things but I can't do a lot of that until I get the A/C charged and can drive the car. I will be checking to make sure everything is getting power.
