If the bottoms of the front fenders of your '57 are not rusted, then they've been repaired before or replaced recently...

Front fender bottoms are the first areas to rust on a '57 in my area...

This is a Chevy site and I respect that and always will. The only reason I gave as much detail about my Olds was because Enigma57 asked. I don't talk about my Chevy over on the Olds site.

The bottom of my fenders do have some rust but more dents than rust. They are for sure the original fenders. The ones on my parts car are not much better.

busterwivell: You and your wife have been through some tough times. My wife and I have been very fortunate. She had breast cancer in 2009. She caught it very early and only had to have a lumpectomy and 6 weeks of radiation. I have no health issues and am very fortunate. You have to be a tough couple to get through all those health issues. I hope you enjoy your car when it is finished.

Just playing the hand we were dealt.......and, you can bet we'll enjoy our 56. I personally don't see anything wrong with talking about your Olds here (nice ride, by the way)......wanna hear about my 66 Chevelle?
I've got to search for instructions to post pictures here.......computers are not my strong suit.

Guys, nobody here is opposed to you talking about other cars. There is even a forum called "Non Trifive Chevy cars and trucks" on this site. If you notice my comment to Custer wasn't blasting him for posting something looking for a 32 ford, I said it this site probably wasn't the best place to look for one. He seems a bit thin-skinned to me if that bothered him somehow.

Your post was well put, until you added the last sentence. It put you in the same spot.

Yeah dumbass, that post really adds value . Maybe you ought to try posting something about that '55 "project" of yours that seems to be going nowhere instead of looking for opportunities to attack other people's work or interject stupid comments. GFY.
