PREVIOUS QUESTION:
__<<<<<Not to further prolong a non-Chevy topic, but . . .Kevin offered a
simplified explanation of the theory of flight.... How then do we explain
inverted flight with
the same airfoil? Would not the low pressure area then be UNDER the wing,
causing the plane to plummet from the sky as the "lift" forced it downward?
Is this "counterforce" overcome by shear brute thrust? Reno

EXPLANATION HERE :
Ok, since I've hung out with Ultralight Aircraft owners, and have read
extensively on the principles of flight, let me correct the incorrect
assumption people have...

1) Airplanes have their name for a reason , ie it's an " Air Plane ",
the
object skims along in the air. The reason a "plane" will fly upside down is

because of the brute power and light weight of the acrobatic aircraft,
AND.... the reason a wing flies is power applied to overcome air resistance
,
and the ANGLE OF ATTACK...that is the wing must be angled slightly upward
to
catch the air underneath, and enough power to push it thru the resistance
of
the air. The shape of the wing is all-important, yes, as most craft don't
have the power to push a plain flat "plane" shape into the air. A rocket
can
push a tube shaped rockGET /store/img/curs.gif HTTP/1.0
