Definately out driving it Gary. But it's hot where I live, so Im not doing any real distances (yet). The AC isn't hooked up yet (nor would it matter with no insulation inside this tin box of a car!)

All that wiring I've been doing ends up in the center console area. Here's a pic to demonstrate my insanity with wiring:

And I've also swapped out most of the stock door handle hardware in favor of a more custom approach. So now the only protrusion on the door panels will be the door latch and the courtesy light. Everything else is gone. Electric windows and electric vent wings controlled by switches in the center console. Door lock poppers controlled by the remote FOB and a single switch (also to be in the console).

Working on fabricating the sheetmetal console base now. Everything to eventually be covered in upholstery.

(This is a partial move towards a fully custom set of wheels that I cannot afford at this point).

I still need to get all that side stainless on also...

Looking good! The wheels do look better in Chrome. I have the same problem as you. I want a nice set of custom wheels but it's just not in the budget at this point.

I recently went ahead and put the side stainless trim on the Nomad. Teardown and paint is far off...so wanting to get it more complete for now.

Fantastic Paul! Looks much more a "Nomad" now, and probably all the paint needs for 'driving' is a little touchup, polish and wax... If the hood isn't painted, then pull it and paint it black.. and GO with it..

Worked on it a bit this weekend and managed to check off a couple of items on the list.
I have no pics to share, but will say that I wired up the blinker lights in the side mirrors, and fabricated a sheet metal center console lid. Much more interior sheet metal fabrication to go though.

Gonna drive it 60 miles south next weekend to the annual Cruisin' for a Cure car show at the Costa Mesa Fairgrounds. That will be the farthest I've had it out in one outing...so doing alot of minor troubleshooting so that I can avoid that call for a AAA flatbed tow from the side of the freeway.

Took some pics a few weeks ago in the evening. lots of local driving and working thru issues, strange noises, leaking fluids, wiring issues, you name it. All in the name of "shakedown" mode. Lets see if i can get them to load...
