    1000 HP Hellephant crate motor

Mopar stays one step ahead of GM/Chevrolet....

Mopar, Fiat Chrysler's parts division, is now taking orders for its 1,000 hp “Hellephant” 426 HEMI V8, billed as the most powerful crate engine ever offered from a major automaker.

To create it, Mopar switched from iron to aluminum for the block, increased the displacement from 6.2 liters to 7.0 liters, added the valvetrain from the Demon’s 840 hp V8 and strapped on a 3.0-liter supercharger, among other updates.

Unless you were feeling really ballsy and went with two in the nomad. Perhaps something like this:

Youd get where you were going before you figured out where you wanted to go.

    Big mutha!

But that front oil pickup/pan design wouldnt' seem to lend itself to tri 5 crossmember designs. Stock crossmembers FOR SURE, and even C4 crossmember conversions might be too tight with that?

A chevy 502 is a perfect swap in a tri 5. A non chevy engine would be sick, and not in a good way. Unless one is building something to play “street outlaws”. And if that is the objective you will need way more than 1000 HP.

I disagree. Never understood why a 9" Ford rear was okay but a non-Chevy engine isn't. That's what hotrodding is all about imo. Here's one I've been working on for a customer for a while. The firewall and brakes/steering have been a real challenge with the 392 HEMI. It's a 55 HT and he's a Mopar guy who owns a Daytona, a SuperBird, a 70 Cuda, and a 68 Charger.....

Most all the 9” used today really have nothing to do with Ford. They are aftermarket that only has the Ford layout.
Yes, there are some that come out of the salvage yards. Not many left in junk yards today. But for the most part builds today are aftermarket.

Engines too are commonly aftermarket blocks, cranks, pistons, rods, heads, etc. They only share the ability to exchange with the auto manufactures OEM equipment.

So unless one is using the actual OEM auto manufacturer’s equipment it is just custom engine, rear end or what ever.

Graveyard Cars got the first one from Mopar this season. Last week on the show he announced what car he's putting it in for the next SEMA show. He's putting it in a 1958 Plymouth Fury like Christine in the movies!!
