I am using the original speedometer and cable on my 55 wagon. The trans is a 350 turbo. The speedometer is showing way faster than the actual speed. Is there an adapter I need to use or do I need to change the gear in the trans.?

Check out this site...there is an excel spreadsheet to help you choose the right speedo gears, and they sell them too.

If you have a 3.55 gear in rear and your tire is equal to a G70/15 in height go to dealer and buy speedo gears for a 78 Corvette equipted like prevously stated. That is how I got 9it right.
