    power glide down shift adjustment

    hey guys on my 55 Chevy convertible 265 power glide is there a down shift adjustment. it upshifts good but if you want to upshift going up a incline doesn't work no downshift even going slow, is there a adjustment yes oil is fresh.

    Should be a kickdown linkage from throttle linkage to the trans, but it's been so long since I played with that I can't tell you details without spending a long time looking for them... I think you should have a rod from the carb throttle to a bracket mounted to the back of the engine (top of Trans B/H) and a rod down to the trans shifter??

    Check your assembly manual for the parts involved ... should be in the PowerGlide option section.

    There is an adjustment procedure in the shop manual. The adjustment also affects shift pressure/firmness, in the same manner that a TV cable adjustment does on a 700-R4 or 200-4R transmission.
