    Original stock tire size

    I need to find a tire size the will fit in the tire well of my 57 210 fordor wagon. What was the original tire size that came on the car?

    The original tire size was a 7.50 x 14... I'd suggest you look at a 205-75R-14 radial in today's measurements to get close to the original size (slightly thicker/wider) but about the same height and will fit in the fenderwell and the spare tire well.

    The 195/75 /14s from mid 80s Gbodies are probabally closer to a 7.50

    I have a 195/75-14 in the spare tire wheel well of my 57. I can tell you that a 215/70 14 does not.

    William, I have 215/70/15s mounted on original GM 15 x 7 rally wheels on all four corners for my 57 210 sedan. Not much into the newer 17s and 18s with the narrow sidewalls. Too much old school in my blood I guess, LOL.

    Ok! great thanks Gary. When I bought my 57 Chevy 210 Sedan Post it came with P235/60/R14 on the rear and I can't get the tires off the rear to wide. I will have to cut the tires off of it looks like. Its Crazy

    William: If you are having difficulty removing the wheel/tire from the car, you'll have to jack up the car from the axle, loosen the bottom of the shock from the axle/spring, and then jack the body as high as possible and let the axle hang low to remove the rim/tire.

    If you are running 235-60/14 then your car probably has a wider 14" rim on it...? Confirm some of these things (rims, and goals for the car), and we should be able to help you choose a viable tire size...?

    Can you post some photos? That will help...

    Thanks friends for the comments; finally got the tires off by taking off lower shock bolt, & leaf springs then lowered the leaf springs as far as they would go and then raised the axle as high as I could get it the guess what? the tires dropped off @ least I didn't have to cut them off thank goodness!!!

    William? What size are the wheels and tires you're removing?
