The speeches last night... Bidens and Scotts

I listened to as much of Bidens' speech as I could stomach, but finally had to switch channels.

This morning, checking several stations/networks, all I observed was 'reviews/repeats' of Biden's words, but NOTHING from Tim Scott's rebuttal. I'm curious if anyone else saw what I missed... ie. Senator Tim Scott's rebuttal of Bidens claims?? Did any of you see the typical summary of Bidens/Scotts speeches on any of the networks?? If you did, I'd love to see your comments!

I found/listened to and read portions of Senator Scott's rebuttal speech just now online. He is a black senator from South Carolina, and I thought he did a great job of: 1) addressing the portions of Bidens speech which totally omitted giving any credit for Trump's accomplishment, 2) listed the Trump administration politicies and advances (which Biden totally ignored) and addressed how the initial Biden actions was doing more to 'push americans apart', rather than bring America together (which was Biden's campaign slogan), 3) listed some of the arenas which the Biden policies so far were NOT advancing America, but were pushing it back. I thought he did a very credible job in his speech of addressing most of the differences between Republican and Democratic policies, but without doing so in a confrontational manner (as the Demos would have done). HIS speech was about bringing the country together, rather than creating an adversarial atmosphere.

One paragraph near the end of his speech that I really liked that summed up the differences between Republican and Demo policies:

"Our best future will not come from Washington schemes or socialist dreams. It will come from you, the American people: black, Hispanic, white, and Asian; Republican and Democrat; brave police officers in black neighborhoods."

    Hi Bama,
Thanks for your posts. I must admit, I haven't listened to or read either speech. I am rather done with speeches, been burned too often by speechifying. I am paying attention to actions, and am horrified with the Biden administration's actions; they have been wildly successful in transforming our nation (in a truly bad way). When the GOP starts fighting for their constituents, then I will pay attention to their words, until then, I am an unrepresented citizen. I will give credit to the Dems, they fight for their constituents, and their agenda.
I know, so sayeth the grumpy old man (GOM).
    Regards, Doug

I didn't watch it live, as I didn't want to get sick. I did watch some recap on Hannity after the speeches were over.

I thought the visuals of Biden's speech were striking in comparison to his words. An extremely social distanced, mask wearing, vaccinated Congress looking like the pandemic was still on full blast while Biden was talking a victory lap. Looked like a wake. Ifs they wanted to project the image of true progress on the pandemic they should have filled the chamber, invited the Supreme Court and the entire cabinet and insisted that masks were optional. Other than the pandemic, it was the hot air from the trojan horse approach where the actions are extreme left wing from a prez that ran as a centrist and unifier.

Scott just sang to the choir about Trump bringing the vaccine and economic success.

In the end it mattered little what was said. There was nothing new said and no minds changed or even encouraged.

Biden is just like obama. I watched about 30 seconds and started to get nauseated and turned it off. If that was not bad enough it was more than I could take seeing harris and pelosi behind him. Not because they are women but because they are disgusting liberals.

It's reported that at least 1 senator was seen sleeping!

My wife listens to this stuff from Biden and his partners in crime. Says she wants to keep an eye on the 'occupier' of the Oval Office. Me...... I don't have the patience. The outright lies insult my intelligence and get my blood pressure up.

So with that in mind, my wife asked me if I wanted to hear the remainder of Biden's speech, as it was still on when I returned home yesterday. I asked 'WHY?' in a particularly pointed and annoyed way. Then took a couple deep breaths and apologized for being abrupt and asked in a long suffering voice, 'How long until its over?'

Went into the house and did some things that could have waited. Finally came into the front room where she has our TV and computers. Wife had Biden's speech cast onto the TV. So I sat down with a 20 oz. Red Bull and a blueberry muffin and tried to tune him out as I searched internet sources for 12 gauge shotgun shells and heavy grain .44 Magnum JHP ammo.

Thankfully, Biden finished taking credit for President Trump's accomplishments and lying his arse off after about 12 minutes and I could actually feel my blood pressure come down.

Wife found Senator Scott's rebuttal on AmericasVoice.news . Senator Scott was a few minutes late beginning his remarks, so we heard it all. He got off to a slow start relating personal background and making a connection with those of colour who, like most Americans, have nothing in common with today's Marxist globalist Democrat politicians regarding values and what is in their own best interests.

He digressed about other such things but about halfway through, finally warmed up, got more on point and was spot on in the last half of his remarks. I took it as Senator Scott being nervous speaking to millions of people on TV. He would have been more effective in my view, had he simply cut to the chase...... Stated the facts, called out Biden on the more obvious lies and been more to the point rather than being overly polite and saying the same things indirectly.

FWIW...... Just as the more plain spoken Republican congressional legislators were not invited to attend Biden's speech...... The alphabet TV networks did not carry Senator Scott's remarks. My wife found a venue (AmericasVoice.news) and we watched and listened to his remarks there.

    Best regards to all,

    Harry

Funny how the name calling for Sen Scott went ablaze by the Dems. They wouldn't have done that if he was a Dem.

Agree with you both. Even with all the voter fraud and election rigging, they engage in...... The Marxist globalists who have taken over the Democrat party leadership cannot 'win' elections without a sizable percentage of support from the 12% of colour. That is why they viciously attack any person of colour who dares to stray off the Democrat political plantation.

    Despicable on so many levels......
