Another comment to Dom's question on solid color Nomads.

Essentially ALL of the colors in Chevrolet's gamut were available as a 'solid color', in fact single solid colors were the 'standard' and two tone was an option at a slightly higher price on all trifives. That said, as Nomads were a very expensive car to begin with, 'most' Nomads were built in two tone configuration, and of course since AC was not a hugely popular option (due to $cost), most Nomads are painted with the lighter color on the roof to help with heat absorption during summer!

I know that in 1956 solid color black was available for Nomads. I had a friend with an un-restored original Nomad in the 1970s that was solid black (with factory AC).

I got out my Classic Chevy Judging and Restoration Guidelines Manual. I read the charts for single color paint for all three years. I had to use a magnifying glass to read the fine print. For '55 it did not list Nomad as available for one single color. For '56 it listed Onyx Black and Inca Silver as the only single colors available for Nomad. For '57 it showed all Bel Airs could have any single color available.

Apparently not many people ordered single color Nomads, but they could if they wanted to.
