    Paint is cut/buffed

Finished up the cut/buff effort, including water sanding with 1500 wet/dry, buffing with rubbing compound, polishing and applying swirl-removing Black Pearl. We still have to buff out the foam tape lines in the joints, though. We'll do that next week. In the meantime, we'll start assembling the car: things like the bumpers, chrome and stainless pieces, etc.

It's good to get painting behind us! LOL

It looks super Richard.. I really liked the paint in the photos you sent me out in the sunlight!

I think you've also mounted the new tires/wheels haven't you?

Appreciate the comments, guys. Yes you’re right Gary, the corvette is on its new rims and tires. Now we’re working to install the grill and front bumpers, then on to other trim pieces.

And, Doug, I don’t think there’ll be an issue with free time after we’re done, I have a 69 camaro next in line. I’ve been accumulating parts for it now, including a gen v LT4 motor, 6speed Tremec trans, and a Roadster Shop full frame chassis with a 9 inch rear.

No danger of that happening with Richard... not yet at least.. He's already bought parts (including custom roadster shop chassis, new HP engine and 6 speed trans plus others) for his NEXT project (a '69 Camaro). You can see the Camaro body sitting in the rack behind Sue's corvette in the first posts of this thread..

    Hi Richard,
Good that you keep pushing! You have good taste in iron (and fiberglass)! I look forward to watching the Camaro as it progresses along!
    Regards, Doug

    Most frontend chrome is on

Currently working to put the chrome and stainless on the Corvette, starting with the frontend. The grill and bumper surrounds are in place now, as well as the bumpers. Finished up today putting on the headlight mounting assemblies and trial fitting the chrome headlight covers. All is fitting as planned, so far no surprises. The center grill bar and teeth are not yet installed. Access is needed through the grill area to bolt down the a/c condenser, as well as the air baffles made not too long ago.

In addition to the front chrome, the Jag door handles have been mounted and connected. They are working nicely.

A little progress at a time...
