Agree with you all. The world was a better palce before social media and the 'smart phones' that made it possible. Got along without either of them just fine so far and have no intentions of changing that at this late date.

Yes...... I still have my rotory phone and land line at home. Works for me.

    Best regards,

I didn't think a rotary phone would still work.

They do and outlast electronic crap from China. Had them in shop and front garage until AT&Ts service was so crappy I gave up, no phone worked half the time especially when rain or damp weather.

They work fine, Glenn. Just plug them into the phone outlet and you're good to go.

When we have a bad hurricane around here, many times we lose electric power for a week or more.

So I hung onto mine because if we lose electric but the phone lines are still up, we can call and check on family and friends close by.

What I forgot was that when we get the really bad storms, they blow down the cell towers, as well. And since no one else around here thought to hang onto their rotary dial phones...... I can call long distance on my rotary dial phone, but cannot get ahold of anybody close by to see if they are OK...... Until electric power is back on and they can use their land line phone because their cell phones are kaputt until cell towers are back online again.

    Sigh......
