    new owner type

    hi guys and gals
just took delivery of my 56 4 door bel air.
owners grandma bought it new in 56.
been in the family ever since.
came with factory air, PS, PB, radio,
been in storage for more than 25 years.
has had some slight changes made over the years, upholstery for comfort, brake master cylinder changed when the PB failed and it was "just an old car"
put fresh gas in and a new battery. cranked it a few times and pow. it fired right up.
    and.....pushed out cold air. WOW.
cant seem to select reverse right now. but the auto trans runs fine in drive. possibly just wear and play in the linkage. ill get to that soon.
have found a replacement treadle vac on line. will need refurbishing. probably will need a replacement rod that attaches to the brake pedal. if any one has a spare?

many times the rear motor mounts give out and cause trans linkage problems, Check there first

Nice ride ya got there. Thanks for posting pics. Now we all know you are real.

As another poster said, you probably want to replace the rear engine/trans mounts. They do give way over time and allow sagging to the point your shifting linkage could be binding.
