Question Anybody use this size rim???

I am thinking about purchasing these for my 55. I would like to get feedback on the sizes. The front I am running upper tumbler control arms and disc brakes. The rear inners have been cleaned up. I think I would be able to use the below wheels???
    Thanks for any help

I would not go that large, Redman, due to the mounting/dismounting issues, even if they 'might fit'... Check under Calculators on this site and input your wheel data and car data into the calculators and they will give you a great idea if they will work...

They will work fine if you have the correct width axle.

The size tire you use will be the most important consideration. I test fitted a wheel/tire I rounded up that was close what I wanted, before I bought wheels for my C4 55. Ended up with 275/40-17 tires on 17 x 9.5 wheels front and rear with a 38+ offset. They fit perfect and have amazing traction with 200 treadwear tires.

I looked again and 17x8 is the widest in 17". That is why I went to a 18", there is a 18x9.5. I would be happy with a 9" but 9.5" is what is next. I want a little stagger between the front and rear. I am trying to bring the looks towards modern style then the 15" rally's.

Looking at the same for my 55 , was planing on running 245 x 45x18 front and 285 35 18 rear
according to tire calculator it should work , I know I will have to drop rear end to install .
4 link rear 60.5 axle to axle and 72” fender to fender . How did they work out for you

RD what year is your C4 suspension? mine is the wider 88 and up (1990) and I need 55 mm offset on my wheels which are 17 x 9.5 front and rear. Rear tires are 285/40/17 and front are 255/40/17

The 285 mm width rear tire will work on the rear in the stock wheel tub as that is what I have on mine but it is very tight. Your backspace needs to be right on. I have to use a 3/16" spacer on the rear with longer wheel studs or it would rub on the inner wheelwell. My rearend is from a 1990 Corvette, not sure of the exact width that is but I think it is listed in the wheel / tire size calculator.

It is the wider 96 C4 suspension F/R and the wheels are American Racing 17x9.5 +38mm that they made for C4 fitment, and they only aftermarket wheel out there that would fit without getting custom made, and were only $150 ea. The spokes just clear the calipers which is another thing to consider. I didn't want any stagger, plus I can rotate the tires F/R with the 275/40-17's that were used F/R on some years of the later C4 models like in 1992. The +38mm offset pushes the wheel outboard about a 1/2in and do not rub, but I do have to unhook the rear shocks to get the rear tires off.
