    Dual Quads

Have any of you guys seen dual quads on a '56 265 engine before. This one was in Des Moine at the Good Guys show last weekend. It looks original, but I didn't see it as an option in my '56 spec book. I thought that it was only a Corvette option, but those cars didn't have a batwing air cleaner.B8ABE8EE-CB5B-4823-81EC-0BA1683FE3E8.jpeg1FEC5589-E0EC-4DA4-9579-116D579C6BF3.jpeg

I have read about them I believe the exist, unlike 4 speed 57 Chevys. I have never seen on in person, but i have not seen everything.

Yes, dual quads was an option in 1956 for passenger cars also. I've seen a few at National meets back during the heydey of the CCCI and NNC...
    The 1956 Chevrolet offered three 265 cubic-inch Turbo-Fire V-8 engine options:
    - base 170 hp,
    - 205 hp 4 bbl and the
    - 225 hp dual 4 bbl."

I'm biased I'm sure but would much rather look at a dual quad SBC under the hood of a tri-five than another LS with plastic engine cover and fuel rails. The dual quads have the COOL factor going for them so much more. My dual fours set up is not 100% correct and original but still gets a lot of comments at our local shows.

Like the looks of that 56 set up for sure!

Engine covers are gay, I will take my 2x4 or 3x2 any day.

Count me in too as a fan of 2 x 4's or 3 x 2's vs anything LS related.

With the hood down on my 55, the computer fuel injected LS engine in my car is the best engine I have by far in an old car. It's amazing compared to how cool it would look with the hood up with a pretty looking old school engine going nowhere. I still like old engines though for what they used to be.

RD... you need to remove the plastic engine cover, and remove the word 'VORTEC'' from it, and then somehow apply the words 'Rescue Dog' on it.. (To personalize it).. and then reinstall it...

I have yet to have someone not be impressed when I pop the hood on either car. People today are not use to seeing multiple carburation on street engines. A dark primered 55 150 2 dr sedan just screams I need a BBC and a tunnel ram.
