Me and Bob made some progress on Saturday with the horn . First we had to lower the shift collar so we had a proper gap between the turn signal housing , and the steering wheel . Then we went back to the horn button bushing with the steel sleeves which was on the car originally . This solved the problem of the horn bezel being way to loose . When I measured the 3 stand off feet on this bushing it measured 7/16 . All the NOS ones that I picked up were too tall at 1/2 tall . The difference between the two horn bushings was 3/32 . Never throw out your original parts as they tell the story of what's right , and how to . After looking at the original wire harness again we also figured out the main connector rubber grommet only sits behind the connector leaving plenty connector to fasten . Thanks to Gary and the rest who helped us out .
