Please advise
I own a 1955 Chevy BelAir Sport Coupe, it has a six cylinder engine with 3 speed transmission on the tree. The car has been restored and I have a question about the air cleaner. Currently the engine has the original oil bath air cleaner, should I update to a larger more modern filter type air cleaner or keep it original. My concern is keeping the engine running smooth with cleaner air. Appreciate your response.

I can't tell you the correct size to buy, but many people (mostly with V8s) have converted their original air cleaners to use paper filter elements. I'm sure you could do the same with your 6-cyl AC, but it might take some careful measurements and searching for the right paper filter element...
I'd keep an original car 'looking original', and that is the purpose of this type of modification!

Its worked for almost 70 years, I would leave it alone.
