(Information I get thru my emails...)
These are on a par with the old “cigarettes are good for you” ads! It’s a wonder we survived!
YET WE SURVIVED. MAYBE THERE WERE BETTER DRIVERS BACK THEN?

WOW! Some of that is crazy stuff. I really like the Star Chief one, though. I believe it may have come in handy in my youth...........
I can remember laying on the package shelf probably in our 1950 or 1953 Ford. I don't think any consideration was given to safety at all in those days. Thanks for posting these.

Gary,
Those were great! It started with, hmm, didn't know wheel ants existed, to a number of, hey, I used to do that! I was that kid many times, where we blissfully traveled along the road, unrestrained. When we went on trips half-way across the country, I had a lot of sleep time not unlike those pics.
Thanks! Doug
There was a lot of crazy stuff that went on back the, The craziest I remember is not car related. In 1969 and 1970 on my trips to and from Viet Nam through Hawaii, the flight attendants would actually go through the cabin and spray DDT before we landed. Honest truth guys.

I too have never heard of wheel ants, anyone have a clue on this one.
To think of all the time I have wasted hauling my waste oil to a buddy with a waste oil furnace.
